Thank goodness we are getting the power on in a few months as it is so frustrating with limited power. I have lived without 240 electricity for 6 years and it is really starting to bug me. So if you don't see me much for a few months well after that I will be back with a vegence.

Hi The Estate and Tasv. Yes we have joked about doing that.
Today we got two more 80 watt panels to help charge the deeper quicker. My partner has to set them up now.
There is never enough power to get on at night now, and the other day I got on in the middle of the day but then we got a visitor so I switch the computer off. Lucky I have had a few new borrowed rose books to look at. Also I have been making out a list of roses I have orderd from Misty Downs !

When we first built here we were too far from the power so we used a small generator which we filled with petrol every evening and started up. Then we went to bed when the petrol tank was empty. It was slightly inconvenient but we were young and resilient then. When the power was installed some years later we were amazed at how primitive our lifestyle had been!
Also the kids always chose to have an accident just on dark when there was no petrol in the generator and I would be trying to stem a flow of blood by the light of a torch. Rolling Eyes Ah, the good old days?!

Hi Billndee,
yes I am glad those primitive days are almost over. It was good hearing about your days with no 240.
Iit was costing us alot for petrol when we were using it after the Solar Power run out ( me on the computer into the wee hours ) so we decied to buy more bateries and use just solar power. But that wasn't enough power. The electricity hook up cost seemed out of our reach before, luckily that turned out not to be the case after all.

Hi the Estate ! I am extending my garden by two new sections, silly really as we are out of water now but I am hopping it comes good over Winter. I want losts more rose to add to my garden, Heritage and Modern.
My friend Lynette gave me a 'Thomas for Roses Catalogue', they are in South Australia, so I will be ordering from them as the prices for their roses are $10 and $11 for Hybred Teas and Climbers, ( they have alot of old ones that I found more imformation about in the Rose Botanica ), $7 for minatures, $11 for Rugosas and $12 for Heritage roses. The PBR ones I am not sure of the price. My friend said they are very well grown roses that she has recieved from them previous years. Their phone number is 08 8389 7795 if anyone is interested. I hope everyone is well. I better get off the Solar and go do some work.

Karen, That looks like an affordable catalogue as long as the postage is good. I will have a look to see if they have a web page and have a good look. Nice to see you posting now and again. My "Royal Highness" that you gave me is absolutely fantastic. I seem to have at least half a dozen long stemmed roses from her in a vase the whole time. She is lovely and lasts well. Thank you. Carole.
