Oz-bred rose enthusiasts - a question Empty Oz-bred rose enthusiasts - a question

The new pair of Crown Princess Magaretas have both now produced blooms - and they are clearly NOT Crown Princess Margaretas. Treloars agrees, and has issued a credit for 2015.

In the meantime, we have two identical mystery roses, and probably not climbers, alas. One is in the ground (will have to be hoicked out now), the other still waiting to be planted out.

Lauren at Treloars thinks that they might be another crown princess,  George Thompson's Crown Princess Mary.

Anyone else think so? Really nice scent, but flower a bit muddled. Not sure about those cerise outer petals, but that colour would be a cold weather thing on first blooms.

Looks very much like Crown Princess Mary(Thomson) to me. When I get a chance I'll send the photos to George and we will get an answer right from the horse's mouth.

She's;s VERY scrumptious even if she and her pal are cuckoos in the nest. My little pleasant surprises for the year ;-))

Betsy they look so luscious, and fragrance to boot! What will you do with them? Will they join your pot brigade?

'Fraid so, silky. The spots prepared for the CPMargaretas are for climbers only, so the planted CPMary should by rights get evicted from its spacious "house" in teh ground and removed back to "apartment life" in a pot.

The spirit has not moved me to proceed, however. It's not even November and I've got a bad case of garden fatigue

We'll see. The
