Seeds
Hi John and Paul, I need a favour. At present I am in contact with a commercial rose grower of rootstock in the Netherlands. He is sending 95grms of R.Laxa to me as a new form of stock for me. I am going to try the method they use all over Europe and Great Britain. Rootstock from seed.
In return he is looking for R. fortuniana seed. Can you guys help with this please. I need every contact that you might have so I can obtain some.
Many thanks, David.

Just seen your post David, I will be visiting Roworths and Melvilles this weekend, I will make an approach and see what the can come up with.
Re: Seeds

Re: Seeds
Dave, I get well on with Rudi, but that is because I have know him and his wife for a few years thru the rose society and he tends to help them out a bit more. As for getting seeds from him, I'm not sure

Re: Seeds
David as you are more than likely aware I have two bushes of fortunianna. When they produce hips I would be quite happy to send you seed. However after what I found when I checked the bushes today I wouldn't hold my breath.

Re: Seeds
Thanks Doug, I am not going to hold my breath, the more I look into this I think it my might be a dead end. I am going to try Swiss in WA when I finish here and a good friend in the USA. The effort the person (Rob) has gone to for me in the Netherlands I have to at least try.

Re: Seeds
Whatever I can get John, seeds don't way much, a small handful, any amount.

Well Dave, I've canvassed the 3 major Rose nurseries in regards to getting some seeds for you. Not good I'm sorry, no one is really interested in helping, the glimmer of hope was from Melvilles, the told me to get in touch with them at June/July pruning time, no guarantees though. Apparently, with the info that I have received is, Melvilles are looking to selling their business, so I guess they have more on their minds than providing some help to me. Also one of the other major rose nurseries (who I wont name at the moment) could be on the market soon as well.
Anyways Dave, the best I can hope for is that Melvilles will come to the party, I don't know if John has had any luck!!
