A couple of roses that have taken off
I got my Neptune a couple of months back, I am amazed at how vigorously it has grown in such a short time.

and my Angel Face has decided it was time to give me multiple blooms at the same time, before I was lucky to get 1 or 2 blooms.

my Honey D'jon which has been in a pot for a couple of seasons, has finally found its feet in the garden and has really bulked up.

The effort you put into your roses Paul, they should reward you with lots of flowers, well done.

Paul I've never been able to get Angel Face to grow like that one in the photograph. Do you have a secret?

Re: A couple of roses that have taken off
Thanks ausrose and roseman for that, as for angel face it has taken at least 18 months for it to start behaving well. The only thing I have done differently was to cut back on fertilizing. Apart from the initial feeding in september with strike back and worm castings, I gave it a feed of osmocote controlled release for roses and season of course.
Re: A couple of roses that have taken off
Perhaps I will give Angel Face another chance and take your advice as I really like the rose as potential show rose for the floribunda classes. When I couldn't get Angel Face to grow I purchased Blueberry Hill to have a purple floribunda for the AQ to show in the floribunda classes. I am hopeful to have Blueberry Hill for the NSW Rose Championships to be held as part of the Sydney Royal Easter Show on 20th April.

I have always wondered how you exhibtioners get your rose blooms to the show in such good condition.. how do you transport them? as a cut flower in an eski?

My Angel Faces, seem to last a fair while on the bush and they seem to last longer in a vase as well.
