Today I was having lunch under the alfresco over admiring a number of roses in potts  were clothed in red foliage. As a result of the unseasonal hot weather in western Sydney my roses are shooting far in advance of what has been usual. As I looked at the roses I noticed a number of wispy strands of webs flowing on the breeze. The dreaded red spider mite has come early.

A debilitating pest red spider mite if not dealt with it will defoliate roses which retards growth and exposes them to sunburn. In the past I used a number fairly heavy chemicals these days I prefer to use the more environmentally friendly vegetable oils and Natrasoap.

Have you tried ECO Organic Garden's - (Predatory Mite) PETE - you get 1,000 Adult Mites to help get rid of those nasty things. I have just ordered mine along with a few others & some seed to throw around to grow a home for the Good Guys.
Good Luck with it.

Hawkesbury Ag College(NSW) used to sell them, mites, some years back and they were grown on beans.
