Re: Peace
Rosy, how old is the bush ?, does the the cream in it intensify at all during the flowering time?

Re: Peace
Roseman, I have had the bush almost a year but I bought it potted so it possibly could be a few years old. The cream stays this colour the entire time. I wouldn't say it gets more intense than this, but it might possibly in Winter?

Re: Peace
RosyTeesh, are you sure that is a Peace rose? Looks a bit washed out
with insufficient pink/mauve blend. Might be incorrectly labelled.

Re: Peace
Looks the same to me on HMF an the label it came with.. Don't forget I am in QLD and the colours will aways be faded because of how hot it is here. It is a bit darker in Winter especially around the edges but the edges are pink not mauve.

Re: Peace
RosyTeesh, you may be right about faded blooms which we all have during summer. The colours are back to normal now. St Patrick has gone back to being a medium shade of yellow, previously a pale yellow.
Just about all blooms are now quite darker.
Perhaps you could take a pix just before the winter prune.

Re: Peace
It is still very hot here and my other roses are not as bright as they usually are. My Grandmother has been growing roses since she was young and she said it was Peace so I tend to trust her. It is usually a darker pink than this, but I just liked the pale photo of it and it seems to have sparked a debate ..

Re: Peace
Neptune, that looks like Peace to me. The rose above is slightly older but the centres look different even allowing for the age difference.
It's a great rose for breeding though propagated to death. I have 4 newly budded understocks with 2" long shoots. The clone used is supposed to be something very vigorous, admired by many commenting on that's how they used to look.
John, next November I would like some Peace budwood if you wouldn't mind.
