Definitely coffee next time, Ozeboy.I was trying to find the roses on my silky/maree list, and so became a mad creature, racing down the bed rows. Hope I didn't appear too rude.

Was fun, but again time was short and the sun was high. Next time, too, we'll get there much earlier. I left with the feeling that I needed another hour at least to contemplate and select, and more than just the roses. I snatched up a fetchng punnet of violas, but when I got home, I thought, jeez, I've just travelled umpteen kms to walk away with one rose and one teensy bunch of annuals? (and no pic of Finbarr, which everyone wanted))

Isn't funny how modern society has become with communications they way they are. When I first started my own business back in 2000 I received a call from a lady (a building designer) who another client had recommended call me as she was not getting good service from their existing consultant.

I spoke to her and carried out the required survey and emailed the plan to her and then for the next 4 years I did work for her sometimes 2 jobs a week sometime none but it was reasonably consistent. I even managed to get her husband out of a pickle when he built a house 2 metres taller than he should have.

She would ring me about problems and we would spend hour an hour talking about just about everything else than what she rang about. One time I can remember spending 10 minutes or so telling each other jokes.

Then one day just as I was about to merge my company with a couple of others she rang and said that they had decided to move to North Queensland and asked if I knew any surveyors up that way.

As a client she was great. Paid her bills within 7 days of me sending them, appreciated the service, everything, but you know I could walk straight past her and would not know her. I never actually met her face to face yet I considered myself a friend more than someone simply doing a service for her.

And now doing work for a faceless person on the other end of a computer or telephone is normal.

So with this in mind I attach a photo of Lee and I after a heavy pruning session.
