Visibility for non-members
Would it be useful to have a "About Us / Welcome" forum topic that is visible to non-members?
I'm just thinking that when a non-member lands on the page there is only "boring" admin stuff like TOS.
A friendly topic (locked) that introduces what we're trying to achieve etc might nice.

Re: Visibility for non-members
That sounds great, very well put and I probably wouldn’t worry about a disclaimer. If RTA is understood to be a community based interaction site, people understand that our comments are not based on the same rigorous scientific method they might expect from a horticultural journal.
I would also suggest RTA brush up its photo gallery and make that available to the public, adding a “join us” link, to asks members questions about these roses and more. Is there a way we can have all our photos displayed in an album format?
