Keepers because of their Colour

Those of you who do a little dabbling in breeding, here is some thing to consider. Sometimes you breed a rose cultivar which has serious bloom form and you think is it not worth keeping. There are times this happens and what also happens is a colour which is a little unique and has the possibility of creating something of interest.

Here is a list of a few roses which people would discard due to their form. Form is easier to achieve than an unique colour.

Ozroz what is the yellow one (3rd from the top)? This looks like my mystery yellow!

Teesh it might look like yours, but I think it is not it as these are one's that Warren has bred.
I do like it it though and the last one as well.

I love them all (naturally) but the colour on that last one.. mmmmmm.. .

The last ones colour looks better to the eye, its sort of that orangey red you see in a good sunset, the pics is a little washed out

Yes I agree Wendy, the colour is great, it sort of reminds me of 'Meg', which is in the releam of colours that I like.

Yes Wendy that is a fantastic colour spectrim as it can go with so many other plants.

Dave you know the roses I have listed On HMF with the big pedigree

(Wendy X ( Europeana X Othello)) X Dr A J Verhage part of it. The one obove and this one came out of the same seed pod, the red was used as the pollinator because of its structure.

So the red flower above and your 'Meg/Dainty Bess look alike came out of the same hip

Yes Dave and this one which was registered last year called Sweet and Lovely some would say it needs a few more petals, but it makes up for it in its size, a big big bloom and it smells like Juicy Fruit Chewing gum. These all came out of the same seed pod

Do you know what the yellow one was bred from? It's almost identical. Perhaps one of the roses used for it is mine?

Could n't tell you off the top my hat Rosy, but will try and hunt it down this spring when flowering commences. Its in a block of over 500 rose plants
