Forum and Changes
Is the forum going to still stay strictly rose orientated now or are you thinking of any changes now you have all of our attention.
Why I ask that is 6 months of the year most of our roses go to sleep And most of us do a lot more gardening than just rose gardening

Re: Forum and Changes
Cheryl,
I dont think there will be that much of a change.
It has never been "strictly rose orientated" if you look to the right of the screen the most viewed topic is Bearded Iris and Roses.
Most people would have other plants in their gardens.
This is a Rose Forum BUT there is plenty of room in off topic for other things.

Cheryl, will probably leave all the reporting to Queensland as their Tea's
will be great even in winter. Some of my Tea's bloom close to mid winter and soon after. They are blooming well now and should be fully out in a couple of weeks if the rain stops.

Re: Forum and Changes
Our Teas started their autumn flush a week or so ago. This flush usually lasts a month or so then slows down a bit. The flowers are best at this time of year as the heat has dropped off a bit and so (hopefully) has the rain.
All the usual culprits are flowering with White Maman Cochet (the shrub version) putting on a real show this year (the climbing version usually flowers better in spring but this maybe because where it is planted). The climbing Pink Maman Cochet is just finishing off a flush (usually better in spring as well) but has grown enormously in the year and a half we have had it.
Other surprises this year have been “Almerta Mrs Heggie’s Red” (Sold in Oz as Papillon) which has flowered since January and is showing no signs of slowing down and “Rose Hedge Cottage Pink” starting to put out its deep pink version of its flowers as the weather starts to cool.
Of our newer plants, our climbing Penelope that usually does not have a lot of flowers is starting to settle in and provide us with a few, Mrs Graham Hart, whist being a better spring flowerer presented us with a nice flush a week or so ago.
Our Hume’s Blush (?) which was buried under a large Chilean Pitcher Sage has taken off in the sunlight that it was not getting and has also flowered its head off. Rev d’Or has flushed now for a good 6 weeks and going from the buds is going to go for a few more.
I’ve been a bit slack with the camera of late but will see if I can get some pictures.

Anna Olivier has stolen the show here with a massive flush. Only a metre high but mounding up nicely. A great Tea!
