Hi
I'm Sally from Brisbane. I'm currently overseas for another 7 months, but I'm thinking about my roses during my coldest winter ever (which isn't very cold). I'm a Heritage Rose fan and was involved with the Brisbane region's executive of the HRIA during 2009 but my husband's job took us overseas.
Not surprisingly I love the teas and plan on getting more chinas in the future. My best rose without a doubt is Duchess de Brabant. Yeah I know it now gets called Comtesse etc but a Duchess out ranks them all and she deserves the most important title
I also grow Mamon Cochet White, Mons Tillier, Baronne Henriette De Snoy, Mrs BR Cant, Triomphe De Luxembourg, Softee, Mutablis, Anna Olivier, Souvenir D'Elise Vardon, Rosette De Lizy, Sulmanique, Lady Hillingdon and the Austins; Crocus Rose, WS2000, Eglantine and Pat Austin. My biggest disappointments have been the noisettes, none of them have really performed as I had hoped. I also have Brindabella Bouquet and one of their stripey Tigers or something, I can't remember the name but I like it more than I thought it would and it is the best performing of all the HT types that I have tortured and eventually killed over the years. I run a fairly spartan regime, no extra water once established and no spraying. I've enjoyed visiting here on and off for the last few weeks and look forward to "hanging out".

Ok which part of overseas arte you and are you anywhere near rose gardens. I do understand it is winter, but I wondered if you were lucky enough to be there when they were in flower. So after all that, again welcome and feel free to post anytime, Regards David.

Buone Giorno Sally - welcome! Have you had the opportunity to visit the many splendid gardens in Italy, I am hoping to go there next year and visit relatives and explore the fine architecture, vinyards and rose gardens. Ciao, Rita
