Re: Karen's Roses
Congratulation Karen, great display, everything blooming so well. Even the lawn looks so green, must be a great place to sit and meditate.
Karen, you are quite a loiler and only know of 2 other woman who have such an extensive garden. I know you have done nearly 100% of the work yourself.
I hope Roseman behaved himself and only took a ute full of cuttings.

Not one cutting taken, and yes I behaved myself. I did a couple of jobs for her, that is what mates are for, whether male or female

Re: Karen's Roses
Looks great! Sounds like you guys had a great day! Would like to know the names of some of these as they look like some of my unknowns too.

Re: Karen's Roses
Well done David, she deserves a lot of help. Good to see a lot of undergrowth around the roses for we will no doubt get some very hot days.
There are so many great roses there, Karen is to be commended for her work developing such an extensive garden.

Re: Karen's Roses
Simon, you will see that Karen has her folder under her arm and she has every one of her roses in it. So I wrote down each ones name as David took a picture and Karen called out its name.

Goodness, what a labour of love, posting all those pix on Photobucket. And what roses they are! To die for. Wish I had more room. And I could use some of your energy and persistence too, Karen.

Re: Karen's Roses
Hold on ! If you saw my garden up close today you wouldn't think much of it.
David and Carol picked the right day to visit. Today I checked out the temperatures of Tasmania compared to here, I definitely want to have a rose garden where it is cooler so the Spring and other bloomings last longer. Also I will stay more garden active.
David, you will have to show me how you and your grand daughter put the phots on photo bucket in such a professional way. I am so grateful and proud to look at them.
Thankyou Meryl, Larry and Bruce for your compliments ! We are getting rain again at the moment so the roses will perk up again, and me too!

Wow! How fantastic a job you've done! Sure turned out to be one heck of a rose garden Karen! Well done! I remember when you were just starting to plant your little babies out.

Karen
We find Autumn is a lot better for us than spring. A lot of the teas etc start to flower in August and we get a decent flush through September then the hot norhterlies came in and burn the flowers. Surprisingly the once flowering ramblers seem to handle this ok and still give us great flowers through spring but come April the teas are out again and the flowers have more colour and last a lot longer

Re: Karen's Roses
Thankyou very much for posting that photo, Rita. Thats a great record to have. I have just realised that is the rose garden I had on the other side of the creek. I can't wait to see the secvond photo, I will have to look into why I can't get all photos on my computer.
Hi Garry. My aim now is to eventually to end up in Tasmania aiming at getting a longer perfect bloom time for my garden. You wait long enough
for your once bloomers. Also I have to get away from all this coal minning.

Re: Karen's Roses
Well I can see the second photo now. Thanks again Rita, thats another lovely one to have of me in my garden here. That garden doesn't exist now as Ray talked me into moving it over here with the new garden I started over this side when we got the Barn house built.
Ray also talked me into moving everything in closer to each other so the watering was easier, it worked too. Not for the long run though as erverything is going to get too big and squashed. So the other thing I will do with my future garden will be to give everything heaps of room to grow as big as each one wants to.
