Almost out!!!! This is an open pollinated 'Frau Dagmar Hastrup' seedling collected from open pollinated hips at Woolmers Estate and was germinated in 2007. This is its first flower. It's a single (5 petals) and is a nice deep reddy pink colour. The colour here is pretty accurate. Suckers like crazy! Worth the wait I think. I love rugosa foliage so much! My favourite type of foliage.

Loads! It's very fragrant in a typically rugosa-like way love Flowers don't last long though.

Taken today:

This bud should open tomorrow so will try to get a decent photo.

Seems fertile too...I missed seeing the first flower open fully but it seems to be making a good OP hip already Smile

Beautiful colour! I love rugosas too. They may be once flowering but they more than make up for it with the flowers and scent, amazing hips and glorious autumn foliage. I think thats a winner Simon. love

Rugosa flower all season, Rip Smile... they go in flushes though.. no so much continuous. It's only when you start mixing moderns in that you tend to get non-repeaters Smile
