I know Wendy.
I also talked David into getting me just on 400 Gladdie bulbs this year so I probably shouldn't push my luck.

Re: A few of my roses 16/10/11
Wendy, the list I posted is only of about 5 that I have. I guess I could post the names of most of DA's roses. How many Rugosa's are there. I could try for all the Damasks as well. My wish list has a rose in it called ' infinety'

And then there are these people that keep breeding new roses.
There is no hope for us, is there?

Isn't funny how easily we get sidetracked on certain threads. but all good fun IMO.
On "your" available land how many roses can you plant, or is it going to 'buy' Sumaria instead

Oh, there is plenty of room here. Just the minor practalities of water, mulch, pests (rabbits, sheep, alpaca, horses...) and weeds to deal with if I extend much further at the moment.
And just to get us back On Topic... LOL

Paris 2000, looks good till I read it was a floribunda, sorry. Wedding Day, has very good potential.
I wonder if it would look good with 'Meg'
Wendy I will send PM/email tonight, regards David.

Re: A few of my roses 16/10/11
Hmmm. I suspect a Wedding Day x Meg would not be a case of "this rose is a house eater" but, in fact, "this rose eats the whole BLOCK"...
And... you have something against floribundas?? It's a very fertile little mummy too.... got a bunch of seedlings from her last year.

Re: A few of my roses 16/10/11
So 'Wedding Day' is good if it is like 'Mermaid', a wonderfull rose
Carole has just said both are off my wish list.
No wendy, I do like a 'lot' of floribundas, some like 'Iceberg' are out

Any ones in particular? The last 2 don't have a lot of scent.

Yeah, that Paris doesn't really have much scent. A little "rosey" and that is it.
Not like most of the roses on the first page of this thread.

Looks like the bees love it as well. Wish I had room for it.

The bees adore this rose. When I woke at 5.45am that's the first thing I heard.... hundreds of bees outside my bedroom window!
What a shame it's off your list David... I've got a spare one...

Re: A few of my roses 16/10/11
Wendy, I have a spare plant of what I'm calling Rosa longicuspis var sinowilsonii.. would you like it to grow and compare to this one? Is a house eater too though
Re: A few of my roses 16/10/11
I do have a spot ... do you think it would mound okay over a (very) large stump? I'd love to put it on the garden fence but then I would have to rig something up to stop the sheep eating it.

Re: A few of my roses 16/10/11
The sheep will only eat their side which will make it easier for you at pruning time
