Hehe That last pic was because some people on the forum had said something about Woburn Abbey being difficult to grow?? Mine has gone over the "published height" and disgustingly healthy.

Gorgeous! I love MIP and the one you can't remember (of course). Looking forward to seeing belle story open up as I got one this winter but it is still leafing up. Woburn Abbey is a stunning colour!

Re: A few of my roses 16/10/11
Thanks.
The one I couldn't remember is Tess of the d'Aubervilles. In the early morning light.
I'll try and get a pic of the Belle Story this evening - it's opened up more today.

Hi Can't wait for my Reines de Violettes to start flowering a new rose I only planted about three weeks ago. Hope it looks as good as yours!

Tamara
I hope yours does better than the one we had. It got shovel pruned after giving only a couple of flowers a year for three years. I have seen nice ones and maybe it was just a bad rose that we purchased.

Re: A few of my roses 16/10/11
I wish my MIP looked as nice as this too. I got mine as a freebie from Treloars one year. Unfortunately mine is virused and is destined to be shovel pruned
Re: A few of my roses 16/10/11
It's interesting how some do so much better than others. This is the best bush on this slope. 3 yrs old. (The only Reines de Violette)

That one pictured is also a freebie from Treloar.. I ended up with two that year.Simon wrote:I wish my MIP looked as nice as this too. I got mine as a freebie from Treloars one year. Unfortunately mine is virused and is destined to be shovel pruned
Hanging around this forum is making me stronger in the whole "shovel prune" thing... haha I've told 2 roses that this is their last chance to shape up. I suspect one ("Double Delight clg") is virused tho.
Where did you source your Paul's Scarlet Climber?

Lovely Roses Wendy.
"Paradise " I am not sure I have seen before. Is it that colour in the petal (flesh) .
If it is I would like to know more about it. Would it make a good cut flower?
I know I could go and look it up

Re: A few of my roses 16/10/11
The colour is very very close.
Mum loves this rose (she's the one who purchased it). Because it was hers I haven't done anything with it and it has struggled.. but with a rabbit guard in the last 2 mths it's improved out of sight. LOL
It's a HT... I don't think it has any special claims to fame / infamy.
Haven't had that many blooms on it so far but the ones she had from friends in Melbourne I would say it is reasonably good cut flower.
