Glorious Rain !
Hi everyone. We have had 100mls of rain and the creek is running well. So I am so pleased, this should help my new roses make it to getting established. Lucky me !

Re: Glorious Rain !
A great late Xmas present, Rosemeadow! It hasn't been as heavy here, the creek still not flowing and the dam only half full. But we are all grateful.

Re: Glorious Rain !
Well done Karen, as you know we are only over the as the crow flies, to the rest of our members Karen is about 40km's away. Our total so far is 70ml's. The brown paddocks have now got a very green tinge to them, something the animals have not seen for ages, I say let it keep coming for the farmers

Re: Glorious Rain !
David, I don't have the landline on anymore. Just the mobile, I got sick of paying so much money each month so I could talk to people on the phone.
I would rather have the Internet.
It is raining so hard here now, and constantly.

Re: Glorious Rain !
Just went to check the rain gauge. We have had 130 mls. Well there may have been a little bit of rain in it I didn't get around to tipping out, but it wasn't much. I will check with the lady when I see her next as she keeps the rainfalls recorded meticulously.
This is the most rain we have ever had over one period.

Our river has not risen yet and the 3 creeks have not run or even got a puddle in them yet.

Re: Glorious Rain !
Well I hope that changes after a bit of time, David.
Our bit of the creek fills up first as it comes off the road going up the hill either side. The creek on the other side of the causeway, where the National Park is and very steep can be almost still dry and then after a hour or so it can be running through the causeway and then through our property. Our house and rose garden are to the left of the creek in this photo, and to the right is a little corner of land we own too.
Thanks for being so happy for us Orchid40 !

Re: Glorious Rain !
Karen, I own only 425 square feet in Male' which is about 2 Sq mile. We have built a small 5 story building on this 425 sq ft. The rest of you are so lucky to own such big land. The skies are cloudy and rain is on our way too.

Re: Glorious Rain !
Oh Gawd...where am i gonna get that many bottles ?? Yes Rosemeadow, it was an amazing amount of rain. Rain guages were useless as they overflowed within hours, and buckets did the same. The only thing that was of any use here to measure the rain was a wheelie bin with the lid open and a tape measure !! Mould grew on everything....the outside of the house, the inside, the furniture, even your clothes hanging in the wardrobe.

Re: Glorious Rain !
Roseman, just tipped out 100mm out of the guage from yesterday and by the look of the weather radar, we have more coming inbound. I have about 500 marigold seedlings i wanted to plant out today. Maybe i should be planting rice !!!!

Re: Glorious Rain !
That was definitely too much rain if it caused mould on your clothes in the wardrobes.
