Heritage Rose Society
I have recently joined Heritage Roses in Australia Inc. and I am very impressed with the journals and also the prospect of events like garden visits, cuttings swap meets, educational programs and the possibility of getting some of my old roses identified. They have put a lot of work into their web site too.
I have only joined now because I am just now becoming more interested in old roses especially Teas.
But I wonder if there are many members of Rose Talk that are members of Heritage Roses too? I suppose you all are?

Re: Heritage Rose Society
I see there is one at Orange Carole, but that is probably too many hours away anyway?
I think the 4 journals a year are worth the annual sub anyway. They have a lot of info in them.

Good on ya Abbi!
Now we are members we can go to see David Ruston in a few month's time at The Grange at Campbelltown Tas.
Its not often that big names come to Tassie so this is a big opportunity.
While on the subject of big names, we are going to see Jane Edmonson tomorrow at Launceston. This is being put on by the L'ton Horticultural Society.
I am going to tell her she must know me 'cos I see her every week on tv.
Can you go Ripley? Maybe you are working. It is at the Punchbowl Christian Centre, 100 Punchbowl Rd at 2pm and 8pm

Unless she has changed her spots, all her pruning stuff will be new, she did a demo on a garden show and it was terrible, hope yours go better, I say this as my opinion as I am not a fan. Nice lady but I am unsure of her pruning skills, I do hope she proves me wrong on this occasion.

Re: Heritage Rose Society
Had a great time listening to Jane Edmonson and meeting her. Much better than on tv. Taller, thinner, younger, more entertaining. Answered many off-the-cuff questions with great expertise.
Pruning? Please enlighten me about the incident you are all talking about. I wold like to be in on it.
To justify the nice lady from any undeserved critizism, she told us she is not allowed to wear her glasses on tv but she is blind as a bat without them. I remember her making pruning cuts from time to time and she is slow and careful. I now think she can't see what she is doing.
The evening program was ok. Slides of international gardens with her experiences when visiting them. Around the World in 80 Gardens just ended on tv was much better but we had a good time anyway.
