John Pope Paul II Empty John Pope Paul II

Hi!

Firstly I hope I have posted in the right place if not I do apologize.

My mother purchased two roses this year which were:

- Charles Darwin

- John Pope Paul II

She planted both roses this year. March or April if I remember right. Charles Darwin has been blooming very well. John Pope Paul II has not grown at all. Charles Darwin has bloomed very well and John Pope Paul II has remained the same size. No growth at all.

May I please ask if anyone may give me some advice as to how to get John Pope Paul II rose to bloom? She has put mulch and fertilizer in August and September. If memory serves me correctly my mother may have moved John Pope Paul II to another spot because of drainage problems which by now have been sorted out and fixed. My mother loves the John Pope Paul II very much and wants it to bloom very much and she thinks this rose looks very upset.

I do have photos but am unsure how to upload them. A picture of John Pope Paul II is on my profile picture.

Thank you all.

Ang.

The two shortest stems look like they are throwing up blind shoots and therefore can't throw out new canes......the larger taller cane looks like it can throw a new can, but you will need to cut the top bit off just above the next lower node...... the cane with the most brown on it looks like it seems to have a node that might produce a cane....... if these spare nodes produce only blind shoots , I would be tempted to replace the bush
