Rosey days out in Vic
Hi folks,
Sue H and I are heading out to a couple of rosey shows in November - the first is the Vic Rose Society show in Glen Waverley, 8th and 9th November, and then the Werribee Rose and Garden show on the 16th Nov.
Hope some of you can make it, as I am notoriously bad at taking photos.

If you haven't been before you won't be disappointed. With a bit of luck Bruce and Joyce Chapman will be exhibiting at Waverley. If you get a chance introduce yourself to them as they are a delightful couple whose knowledge of roses is incredible.

Well, to be fair Werribee is not within an hours' drive for us either... But we're making the trip anyway!

Zoe and Sue, it might be you two only. One of you will have to take photos. As for myself it would be a minimum of a 10 hour drive, sorry.

Re: Rosey days out in Vic
Zoe and Sue, I'm hoping to get to both again this year. Last year I was on the lookout for Maree at Werribee but we missed each other. It was quite hot but the roses were wonderful. Almost too much to see. This year I really want to have a good look at the Aussie roses.

Girl power! Lol.
That would be great Sue. I'm happy to take pix, but I've only got an el cheapo camera so don't expect anything too flash.

Re: Rosey days out in Vic
David
This went into the wrong topic as I did not look before posting but it is growing on a 2 metre high trellis and it has grown up and over it. I would not say rampant but is quite strong. Its about 4 years old and never has any blackspot or mildew nor do any of the bugs worry it.
It is a spring flowerer with quite a strong citrus perfume. It's been flowering for a least 3 weeks and there are still a lot of un-opened buds on it so it is probably a 6-8 week flowerer.
We will be cutting this one back as it blocks a path through the garden. We purchased another on and put it on a different trellis where it can grow unencumbered by a pathway.

It can stay here Gary as it would look good in Victoria at the 'Rosy Days' meeting.

Re: Rosey days out in Vic
Very pretty rose, it's fragile-looking flowers belie its apparent vigour.
Jordan if you do go you'll have to wear a rose behind your ear or something so I'll know you! Lol. I'm not buying either.
