I am blushing like a new bride, but for a different reason, I think it might produce nice babies(don't forget most of my order was of yellow origins), Zoe it is a monster of a plant that they sent.

Zoe, patience is a virtue, sometimes in a female, always in a male(only joking). It only arrived today, but will post a photo of the plant size Friday afternoon.

Re: Thomas' Order
Patience takes YEARS to learn! I'm only 29. I've got at least another 20 years to go before I have to be patient And I'm a woman, so surely I get an extension of, say, 10 years on top of that?
That's right folks, I'll be harassing you all for photos for 30 years to come! Hahaha.

Re: Thomas' Order
Doug, if you look at them and count how many there are, Karen(rosemeadow) dug and transported them by herself to Tasmania.

A great resource of information and pics of Alister Clark roses here. Was very excited to see from Balinbear's post of 2010 that Ciceily Lascelles does well up here as I've just planted her opposite Lorraine Lee to climb a large arch and mingle in the middle. Great work!

They did well for a couple of years but over the last couple of years not so good. We have noticed that a lot of Alister's roses that we have had have lost vitality after a couple of years. Many have been pulled out. Could be our soil or the lack of fertilizer. We certainly don't feed as much as we should but this does not affect some roses (the older types Tea, Chinas etc).
I suspect they, like David Austin's and most modern roses need feeding all year round (in our soil anyway). I guess that is the price we are paying. Like resistance to pests etc, if you are after the perfect flower (or what a lot of people think is perfect) you need to spend time and money to keep it that way. Unfortunately with the number of roses we have we have neither the time or money to do this.
Did you get you Mistydowns order from the sale? Ours has been posted so they should arrive today or tomorrow.

Claire Jacquier: Yellow Noisette because the one we have is taking over the garden where it is and it probably won't survive the move
Echo: small pink Poly
General Gallieni: Another one because Lee loves it
Grand Master: Apricot Hybrid Musk
Marie-Jeanne: Pink Poly
Pompon de Paris: Small (almost a miniature) pink China.
Sky Rocket: Pink Hybrid Musk
Souv de Pierre Notting: Yellow Tea
William A Richardson: Yellow Noisette that we have one of but is not in the best locality (under a couple of huge gum trees) so we thought we would get another one so it can grow in a better spot.

Re: Thomas' Order
Thanks, Balinbear - I'll keep an eye on the Clark roses. We have easy access to cow manure from our neighbours paddocks so they'll have to cope on that along with the occasional handful of chook pellets.
Mistyd's have sent my order as of yesterday so I probably won't get these now until Monday next. I've order some Portlands to trial and some climbers :
1 Delambre
1 Panachee de Lyon
1 Rembrandt
1 Rose de Rescht
1 Rose du Roi a Fleur Pourpres
Climbing Teas
1 Devoniensis Climbing
1 Sombrieul
1 Leys Perpetual (Noisette)
1 May Queen - Rambler to replace Clg Cecille Brunner purchased from B..gs that turned out to be Bloomfield Abundance - a large shrub but not helpful in climbing a 20 foot plus arch!
