h40 potting mix
I live on the Northside of Brisbane and am looking for a reliable source h40 Potting mix. I have done some ringing around but some of the landscaping suppliers leave you less than confident with their information on what they stock and where they got it from. I know [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] are the main supplier to the landscapers and charge around $100 a cubic metre but are only open Monday to Friday and are based in Beerwah.
Cheers

Re: h40 potting mix
Hi Roseman,
It is a good basic mix that can be used for not only roses and you add fertilizers, manures etc as each case may require and your not paying an arm and leg for it. Most Brisbane Nurseries use it and I have seen how well it goes when used with potted roses which I have many.
Cheers

Re: h40 potting mix
Brett, no other commercial soil producers around the area, you don't have Australian Native Landscapes do you, they would be the biggest in NSW

Re: h40 potting mix
No we don't Roseman, problem is there are landscapers here in Brisbane that have potting mix in bulk but they are scratchie in the detail so you have no idea what your getting.

Re: h40 potting mix
Hi Roseman, Thanks for helping out! Yes I did but they want nearly $200 for what surely would have only cost them $85 and they are not really all that close by. I may have to bite the bullet and have a day off and go directly to the supplier and get it for $100.

Re: h40 potting mix
Brett, to get a cubic metre or box trailer load it is around the $100 mark here in Mudgee.

Re: h40 potting mix
$100 is a good price but nearly $200 is clearly not right. Than on the other hand I have found other landscapers with better prices but no real information on what their potting mix is or where it came from.

Re: h40 potting mix
Hi Ausrose,
There is a place here in Brisbane who is charging $240 per cubic metre but other than being overpriced has little information on their product.
Maybe Qld dirt has a golden touch

Re: h40 potting mix
Brett, what sort of distance from Brisbane are you, Im thinking outer suburbs, surely there is a commercial maker and does your phone book not have wholesale companies which "produce" mixes

Re: h40 potting mix
All sorted Roseman, The main supplier in South East Qld is Bassett Barks at Beerwah.
I contacted them and asked which landscapers they provide H40 to that was close to me which I was told Centenary Landscapes at Darra was the closest which is 40mins from me and South West of Brisbane. Beerwah is North of Brisbane and also 40 mins from me. I then contacted a landscaper at Caboolture (15mins north of me) and asked where he got his potting mix from and he replied Bassett Barks and he added that they (the landscaper) were supplying quite a number of nurseries and the potting mix was in high demand and they always had plenty on hand. Funny that Bassett Barks didn't tell me about this landscaper but I think they were keen for me to make the trip to Beerwah rather than find a closer supplier. Thanks for your help Roseman and case closed.
Cheers
