Re: White/Cream/Champagne Roses what is your Favourite Rose
Mediocre rose in every respect. I suspect that the Kordes/Treloars sales pitch "Worth growing for its fragrance alone!" is a desperate bid for attention. As for that "worthy" fragrance, you'll get more scent from the composted plant.
Mine is still here, only because it's semi-invisible (five flowers in three years) and gets overlooked in any cull. You have reminded me to offer it up to the Compost God..

Re: White/Cream/Champagne Roses what is your Favourite Rose
it can be quite annoying when you buy a rose with a good reputation, on;y to be told/find out it is not as good as you expected! This has happened to me, but I just soldiered on with it! I have found some roses perform well for other people, but for me they are awful!! Probably my lack of care/knowledge or whatever!

Re: White/Cream/Champagne Roses what is your Favourite Rose
You know Sue, Icegirl doesn't even have much of a reputation. It's not a baaaaddd rose, just not a stand-out in the crowd. It doesn't get much air time on any of the main rosey sites, and i suspect that's because it is so average. Average whites, like averagepinks and average reds - who needs 'em, with so many better roses in those colour classes from which to choose?
On balance, the new-ish and not-very-fragrant Summer Memories is even nicer than IG, certainly more prolific and more shapely. Maybe the showies have another opinion, but I don't recollect seeing IG mentioned much (if at all) in that exhibition context, either.
Nice name, though ;-))))) On sale at Treloars if you care to give her a whirl your very self.

An outstanding white/cream rose is Memoire as it is vigorous, has strong perfume, is an excellent exhibition bloom and the bush has abundant blooms.

Nah....... don't think I'll bother Betsyw. Would rather grow Summer Memoire. It seems a better option!

I'd like to try Memoire myself, with that recommendation from Ausrose. Might be a good companion for Summer Memories. Also I might have a Thrip Resort, but still...

Re: White/Cream/Champagne Roses what is your Favourite Rose
Hi All,
I ordered Jardins de Bagatelle from Magic Gardens due to the glowing recommendations on here. It arrived today. On HMF it has a height of 120cms. Would anyone be able to tell me the width of the plant as I have several options where I can plant it.
Thanks,
Louise.

Pascali is lovely but what about Frau Karl Druschki? It balls a bit if it's wet but it's very lush and beautiful. I think it's a lovely rose and so is Margaret Merrill.
