Hello Rosebuds, I have been in the Usambara Mountains, Tanzania for the last month, staying at a place called Amani (it was for work, honest).. I found this rose occasionally in disturbed places. It potentially may have an interesting history as German migrants established a Botanic Garden at Amani in the early 1900s, and just over 50 of the 554 species they planted are invading the natural forests. The perfume of this rose reminded me of a Gallica.  Any suggestions on its name most welcome. Thanks in anticipation.. Hariet~rose

Hariet, there is a fella in South Africa named Ludwig Traschner, a rose grower for many years, he would be the bloke to ask IMO
