Worm juice is a lot cheaper in WA than on the "dark side."

Re: Feeding of Roses
Neptune, You wont be disappointed when you see the roses bloom. They just love this stuff. It is like like "Unkle Elisers Elikser" it cures all ills as far as roses are concerned. Give them a feed then follow up and sit back and pick the roses!

Re: Feeding of Roses
neptune, which brand did you buy? I can only find Worm Juice online, not Worm Wiz (as a product).
Dennis, I'm assuming that worm pee works well for roses in large pots, too, or am I wrong in this assumption (I realise that potted roses aren't exactly your area of interest, but thought I'd ask).

Re: Feeding of Roses
Thanks neptune, when you say 1 in 8 what do you mean? 8 parts to 1 part what would be the ml ratio to a litre of water. ta mateeneptune wrote:last year , I was doing 1 in 8

Re: Feeding of Roses
1ltr of worm to 8 liters of water(watering can)......I have seen 50:50 ratios as well

Re: Feeding of Roses
Hmm, depending on the amount of plants and how often one uses it, it seems it could be a costly exercise neptuneneptune wrote:1ltr of worm to 8 liters of water(watering can)......I have seen 50:50 ratios as well

Re: Feeding of Roses
it can't be nothing as you are adding minerals to the soil in whatever quantity.....it also means you fertilize more.....

Re: Feeding of Roses
Didn't Dennis say he used 15ml per litre and at that rate the difference in the roses was noticable? Good enough for me. Just have to get some worms. Lol

Re: Feeding of Roses
Silkyfizz, I started worm farm about 3 weeks ago. I have used worms from the garden (hope this is right. Was told to do this by the staff at Bunnings). Now, when I go into the garden, I'll swear I can hear the worms left in the garden soil, wriggling away to hide!
I think I'll try to buy some worm wee on the net unless anyone knows anyone in this area who sell it!
Don't suppose you can "Milk" worms?!!! LOL

Re: Feeding of Roses
Sue, you will find that compost worms differ from garden worms in that composting worms live and feed near the surface whereas garden worms are deep burrowers. So you best bet is to go back to Bunnings or a worm farm and get the composting worms

Re: Feeding of Roses
Yes Neptune, that's right, there's 3 different kinds recommended for worm farms. Sue I had to giggle at the idea of milking worms. You would need teeny tiny hands...
