Re: Top Show Roses in America
The top exhibition rose in NSW is Moonstone with Kardinal second other roses that win best exhibition ribbons include Madame Teresa, Diana Princess of Wales, Red Cedar, Pope John Paul II, Tineke, Memoire and Signature.
Brass Band has been the dominant floribunda on the show bench in NSW over recent years with Pink Parfait, White Spray, Seduction, Flemington Racecourse (Chapman), French Lace, Imp(Dawson) and Evelyn Fison all winning champion floribunda ribbons from time to time. It is interesting to note in the floribunda list there are two Australian bred roses these being Flemington Racecourse (Chapman) and Imp (Dawson). The two Aussies has not only won champion floribunda ribbons but have been grand champions on numerous occasions.
In NSW the miniflora category is relatively new and an unregistered rose named Sprayer has won the majority of miniflora champion ribbons. Since the reclassification of the Aussie Joyce Abounding (Chapman) from a miniature to a miniflora it has been been dominant.
Figurine has been the number one miniature for over 10 years in NSW with the challengers being Benardella Ruby, Irresistible, Red Gem (Chapman), Royal Show, Delicious (Welsh) and New Hampshire.
