That Panasonic Lumix (DMC-FZ8 right?) does a great job of catching the red in LD Bemo! Great photo and lovely plant.

you are right Simon, it's the DMC-FZ8 . Indded you can great Pics with it, althoug this cam has a weakness regarding 'noise' producing when photographing with higher sensitivity ( > ISO 400). Anyhow....it was a good choice

Ooooh! I have not heared of a red L da V. It looks absolutely lovely. Does it have all the same qualities of the pink version?
I love L da V for its continuous, and I mean continuous flowering. Also it is very easy to strike from cuttings. Also it is very healthy; not black spot or mildew ever on my bushes.
If the red has the same qualities thenI must have one.

Dee, the qualities of this rose are even better than those of the pink one.
The red one has still the German 'ADR' Label (since 2005), what means it's testet at different places (11) for three years without any spraying, esp. regarding the resistance vs. PM abd BS.
The pink one has not this label.
I hope you will be able to get this rose in OZ.

Does a self polinated seed have all the features of the parent?

I hope some nursery imports this rose into Oz very soon. Even then it will probably take a year or so to bulk up enough to market.
Does anyone know how they import a new rose? Do they buy a big lot of propogating buds?

Alee, do you look exactly like your mother or your father ?
without to become academic, the children will only have all genes of the parent plant and also all of the other ancestral. You can get the whole mix of all e.g. a dwarf ore climber. But there is a chance that the result has a small likeness with the mother plant regarding colour, shape, scent ore something else. There is also a chance that (for instance) the sensitivity to BS from grandpa becomes dominant
