Rosette de Lizy

Some pics of this gorgeous little Tea I got from Misty Downs this winter. I dont know if the blooms are small from being in a pot of if this is naturally how big they are. The pic of the bush should give you an idea of the flower size (please dont look at the weedy mess behind it! ).

Hi Ripley. That's quite impressive. You have the touch also !! Seeing as how Teas should grow well up here i'm hoping to start growing some next year. I've been in touch with a few of the authors of "Tea Roses - Old Roses for Warm Gardens" to find out what they would suggest for my gardens as some of them grow quite large and my gardens/yard is only average size. I was tickled pink that they answered my email, so now i have a list of what to get next year. I'm trying to grow some multiflora rootstock at the moment that i got from Roseman and with those i may be able to bud Teas onto them at a later date. Your Rosette de Lizzy has a beautiful flower. Has it got a nice fragrance ?? It would be interesting to see how it goes in the future. Cheers...Dave.

Your Rosette Delizy bush has grown very well for only having got it this last winter. I have some young ones of this to make a hedge with five other varieties of Teas. Ozeboy grafted them.

In general I don't find the scent of the Teas attractive. The people who (re-)released the "rose sold as Francis Dubreuil" and "Beales' Mons. Tillier" should have caught on: they smell much too good to be Teas!

Makes me wish I had kept my tea roses *sheds a tear for the amazing plant of "Lady Hillingdon" I gave away* To think I parted with them to make room for certain hybrid teas I no longer like or even have *shudders*
