I need help!
Does anyone know if Peace hips change colour? The few I have seem to have stayed green forever. Carole

Re: I need help!
In general Carole, I don't put a lot of emphasis on the colour of the hip because colour is such a variable trait. I prefer to look at how long they've been developing. As a rule of thumb, most HT hips need to be about 14 weeks old before their seeds have matured enough to germinate. Some species, like multiflora-type seeds can be ready earlier (in as little as 6 weeks in some cases) and others a little longer. If your Peace hips are around the 14 weeks old mark the they are ready regardless of the colour.

Thanks for that imformation Simon as I have a hand pollinated ( Fortune's Double Yellow the Pollen parent and Gruss an Aachen the seed parent ) still on the bush as it is still green, being right near the house in the shade. I wondered if it would end up ripening.
