Lucky you Tas! Alpacas are the cutest and yet the weirdest animals to my mind. You should have a lot of fun learning their personalities and behaviours.

Simon, They are so beautiful, love how old are they? Have you chosen names for them yet? I can't wait to show David your picture of them. Carole.

They are meant to be 18months old, 'fairly tame', and halter trained... we hope to take them to our 'petting zoo' with the rest of our menegerie (chooks, ducks, goats, ferrets, rabbits, dogs) we run at the local primary school fair every year. No names yet... Trying to think of something Peruvian Hmmmm

Tas, Have just had a look at your new addition the the animal farm(Voorwinde Zoo Tasmania). Have you ever seen them shawn. We have one on the farm for protection of lambing ewes and lambs. Material need to sheer them. One good shearer, two good posts not for apart, length of rope, two bits of flat wood of about 70cm with a hole in each end to accommodate the rope. What happens is someone tackles the above pet to the ground, rope loop over each leg, this where the timber is employed, the loop is thru the hole to spread eagle the legs, same at front or back, rope tensioned to each post as you go, then the shearers gets to work at about $20-$30/pet. I forget to mention do not stand in front of them as they get angry and spit up to 2 metres away, have fun roflmao regards David.

Arsenio. Call them that when they spit at you.
Most peruvian first names are heavily Spanish influenced.

New lawnmowers arrived today... The name Inca won in the end and along the same lines was Aztec (so not to be unpatriotic I've ozzed it up a bit and call them Azza and Inky . Rolling Eyes )
