Post by muscovyduckling 28th May 2014, 21:10

Just wondering if anyone has heard of this rose being offered in Aus? I think it's a Meilland rose from 2004, but HMF doesn't list it as available in any Aussie nurseries.

Very pretty and apparently has a strong fragrance. The yanks rave about it.

Whoops, forgot to say, HMF only lists it as available from one nursery in the whole wide world, so I don't think it's up to date.

Just been on that link and found a rose called Eddie Mitchel.  Looks rather similar to the RSL rose don't you think?!  Sorry - gone off topic - oops!

Well, I sent an email to the Corporate roses people, but my email to H A Oakes and Sons at patioroses.com.au bounced back. The website doesn't exist anymore and the trademark has lapsed and not been re-registered. So I don't think they are Meilland agents anymore.

I find this whole situation very strange!

I looked up the rose Bolero on HMF and found a number of roses with this name rather confusing.

Now, don't be like that!! LOL  Been down to Bunnings this morning.  Have actually bought Z. Drouhin.  Will wait patiently to see how it does.  BTW, phoned Bunnings at Dandenong who usually have a really good selection of bagged roses.  Talk to a guy I know there and he said they will be getting all the Rankin roses in fairly soon.  So don't despair!  'Bolero' floribunda? 3428811783

Ausrose it is confusing. I'm talking about the 2004 floribunda, registered as MEIdelweis.

When I went to HMF I realised it was the rose you were referring to in your post. It certainly has an impressive bloom.
