Maybe I've found a new fertiliser

Well bare with me as I explain this, for our (now) 2 feline friends, we have started using a new kitty litter, it's called Oz Pet. It is made up of compressed wood saw just into pellets and coated with cellulose. The tray has 2 levels one level is a siv tray, as the cats pee on the pellets they break down into a damp saw dust a drops through to the bottom tray. It has no odour and after a week you just empty it out. Recently, we were talking to a chap who was told that it was not suitable for garden use, so he tried a bit by spreading it onto a small section of lawn and watering it in. To cut a long story short the lawn when gang busters greening up and growing fantastically. So, I thought I would give it a go, but I wasn't sure enough to use it on the roses just yet. I found a small tomato plant growing in a hanging basket with some petunias, I took it out and put it a pot. It was looking half dead after 4-5 days, so i sprinkled with a bit of the kitty litter, 2 days later it was rich green in colour not yellow, in one week it has tippled in size and id not looking back.

Now, should I give it a go on a rose????    what do others think

I was thinking a long the same lines neptune, now which one Hmmm.

Talking about neptune, I measured my neptune rose tonight 7 1/2 feet tall, just on 4 months old, nicely filled out to.    so I won't use this one lol

I agree, try the least worthy rose of your attention, but I have to ask, is Neptune in a pot or in ground?

Hi Paul and everyone else!  Sorry, I'm been a bit off colour and have also moved house! 
Now, Paul, is this "used" kitty litter?  I don't have a puss cat, just adopted a little dog though! LOL

Hi Sue, I hope the colour has come back. Is the house move much different to the old house. We could start a new topic about it.

I'm still picturing what a 'tippled' rose might look like !!!

Hi Sue, I hope you are well onto the road of recovery, as for the kitty litter, yes it is used, the urine breaks down the litter and it falls through to the bottom. There is no poo poo's in it, they are taken out each day, off course.

Paul, can I borrow a cat?!!!  Don't think my new addition (a little Maltese Terrier) will oblige! Maybe if I left a kitty litter tray out, some puss cat would use it!! LOL
David, sure we can start a new topic about my "new" garden.  At the moment, it is looking rather sad.  Last owners were NOT gardeners, hence the lack of plants.  Only a rather "rustic" lawn prevails!  The garden isn't big at all.  Just the size I think I can cope with at the moment.  The back faces north and over looks bush type land, if you see what I mean!  All my pots were duly moved - much to my son and others disbelief!  An Acer was among them!  That is happily sitting under a small Gum tree now along with my Daphne - also happy in this spot.  Am thinking of putting in a couple of climbing roses on the back fence.  Crepuscule is a must!  Nothing too rampant.  Any suggestions will be gratefully received.  I know...... there are 1000's of roses out there.  My kitchen window and dining room over look this area. Will try to put up some photos, so you can see what I'm taking about!

Awe sue, the felines are my wife's, if it were up to me we wouldn't have any fury animals lol
