Wonderful site David. My tongue's hanging out!! Would love to visit. Have you bought any from them and if so what were the bushes like?

No Sue, I have not been to Bishops Lodge. It is one the to "Do list". I have one or two of Alister Clark's. I actually forget their names, but are yellow.

Do anyone actually grow Gladsome? I wonder if it is fragrant or not?

Re: Maybe Some Interest
We have:
Australia Felix Probably Not the real one.
Blackboy from Big W and has not done all that much though to be fair where we have it is not the best place to try to grow anything.
Boarderer Pink Polyantha probably our favourite. We have "hundreds" of them. Strike easily from cuttings
Cieceily Lascelles grown on obelisk quite well.
Emily Rhodes Pink Climber does not flower that much but when it does the flowers are quite nice
Lady Huntingfield nice yellow flowers. reasonably healthy
Lady Mann just planted this spring
Loraine Lee excellent
Lorraine Lee Clg bit slow but has now settled in and starting to climb up the pergola
Madge Taylor Very large flowers but not that impressed with the bush
Marjorie Palmer Flowers well but is covered in Black Spot most of the time
Mary Guthrie Nice pinky red single
Nancy Hayward Beautiful red single climber
Restless Red shrub that flowers well but the bush is not that flash
Squatters Dream Great yellow single Flowers only last a day
Suitor Little polyantha that suffers from Black Spot
Sunny South Supposed to have been Alister favourite. Not mine.
Traverser Yellow climber that has the habit of flowering whenever I am not looking. Have yet to actually see a flower but the dead heads are there so it does flower.
Zara Hore-Ruthven Beautiful pink shrub. Bush nearly died last year but has come back reasonably well.
We did have Gwen Nash and Daydream but they did not perform all that well and have been replaced with a couple of Noisettes.
Photos of most of them are on our gallery [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Maybe Some Interest
Has anyone else tried Sunlit? It is a gorgeous Alister Clarke. So healthy ( and you have to be in my garden, I'm a neglectful parent at times). It has almost no thorns, repeats constantly, and is good to pick. not much perfume is it's only fault.

Re: Maybe Some Interest
No I have not grown 'Sunlit' Debbie, I had been looking for yellows for a bed and thought this might be nice as it is a Alister Clark, once I went and chased up photo's it did not fit the yellow bed. It does look good though.

Please be careful with Abbreviations.........
the search engine doesn't understand abbrevs....and
if a newbie is reading they don't understand and maybe a bit shy asking what a abbrev stands for
