Trip to Silkie Roses today !!!
My husband and i did a quick trip to Silkie Roses today , well not so quick nearly two hours each way from where i live , but it was worth it , beautiful location and such a lovely , cottagey nursery , roses were all in full bloom and looked lovely , we couldn't stay too long so took a few pics on my phone , grabbed the four roses i was after and headed home again , will post these soon . I came home with 3 standard roses , Charles de Gaulle , Jardins de Bagatelle ,Jubilee Celebration and a climbing Nahema , could have bought more very easily , now i have to get the bed ready .......

Re: Trip to Silkie Roses today !!!
How could you stop at four when the roses were in bloom, I am sure there would have been room in the car for one more, even two.

Haha, don't think room in the car was the problem Roseman, it's finding room in the garden that was Maree's dilemma. Oh Dan Lol, we know what your weakness is!roseman wrote:How could you stop at four when the roses were in bloom, I am sure there would have been room in the car for one more, even two.

Silky, the answer is remove some more of the grass, which intern means less mowing.

Well I don't know why he wouldn't take you up on that offer roseman. Just a short little drive up the highway to tend his beauties. I'm sure he could manage that after work if he tried.

Re: Trip to Silkie Roses today !!!
I'd never heard of Silky Roses before. Just looked it up on the internet and it looks LOVELY!!
My daughter is moving to Melbourne next year so I'll have to go and visit her.... hmmm..... could easily be diverted to a nice rose farm!

Re: Trip to Silkie Roses today !!!
You know me too well Silky , definately room is the problem , and the more i look at those two blueberry bushes , the more i think , you guys are on death row , they'll have to be very good blueberry's this year to save them , they are occupying prime real estate for sure and i've got a couple of roses in mind for that spot , Betsy i'm working on the pics , got to sit down and concentrate lol , i am soo happy with what i came home with , Jubilee looks like she's been in the pot for awhile , but i'll fix her up no worries , Jardin is one of Diana from Silkies favourites so she keeps it . Debbie , Silkies roses is named after their Silkie chickens , they used to be at Kilmore , but have now shifted down the road a bit , they are in partnership now with Wagner roses from S/A , you probably would like both of their newsletters , go to their website and subscribe ..
