Re: New Camera
Hi Barbara, I use the Sony HDR XR 260V. I use it because it is high definition, has a 32GB hard drive (can also use a card), works very well in low light and you can buy a larger battery - which we need to run it overnight. This model also has infra red so we can film at night. It has a touch screen and is quickly adjusted to suit conditions. It has an excellent macro feature. I have also snipped very high quality stills from it. I had to price one today and you can get it for about $670.00 If anyone is interested I can load some footage of banksia floral visitors and also a still from the same.Barbara B wrote:Hi hariet-rose,

Re: New Camera
well here is a still of a noisy miner .. i will work out how to load a high resolution digital 'video' on the weekend .. so this image was grabbed from the video after i had downloaded the footage onto my laptop and worked through the footage until i saw a useful image.. can you see the dust on the leaves? i was very pleased with the clarity of the image..[img][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][/img]

Thanks Paulh, I will look at Officeworks site tonight.
I suggested this Panasonic on the basis of being a point and shoot camera, it does produce photos with the most accurate colour reproduction of cameras in its class.
Re: New Camera
Thank you hariet-rose.
That's impressive for a still from a movie recorder.
When we bought our Canon digital a while ago, the salesman said the quality of the stills from the videos weren't good enough yet - but that one certainly is.
