Potted Roses
While I was at the private rose garden open day which I previously posted, I received some interesting advice from the owner Allan.
Enquiring about his feeding methods, and who wouldn't, I asked him about potted roses.
He highly recommended that I use the product Strike Back for Orchids, he advised me that this product is the X Factor for potted roses. Apart from a foliage spray of Seasol and Fish Emulsion , this is all that is needed, and after having a look at his oasis he must be doing something right.

Re: Potted Roses
Neptune, would you advise this product be limited to potted roses? Could it have same results for roses grown in ground?

when they trialled this product a few years ago, they found it to be good for majority of potted plants...something in the makeup of it....but it did not perform as well in the ground as there other product, sudden impact for roses...

Sorry Neptune, I didn't mean to take over your previous thread, I guess I should have searched the forum first.

Re: Potted Roses
As well as fertilizer the mixture used in your pots is also very important. Recently I developed a mixture for my pots and it is definitely an improvement on the basically soil I had been using previously. I have found the Neutrog product Strike Back for Orchids an excellent fertilizer for pots.

I passed this information on a couple of years back and a few people picked it up....probably need a new thread to see how they went....

Re: Potted Roses
I had made a note to try this product. Thanks for the reminder. We are off to the large Heritage Gardens nurseries today. Will see if they have it there.
