Termites in my Lamarque Noisette
Today I found that my 7 year old Lamarque which is entwined around a dead 3 metre high stump has termites in the bud union area. I snapped off one dead cane and there are holes in the remaining area. Any ideas of how to treat it? I thought that perhaps Confidor might kill the little blighters but if so at what rate? Anyone else with this problem?
Thanks
Thanks

If you want to kill termites and ants,...go to Masters or Bunnings and buy from the insecticide section a David Greys product called Termite Spray. Cost around $20 and 5ml makes 1ltr. It will turn the water white. Just put it in a 1ltr pump spray bottle(about $5) and spray away. It will just about kill those bugs on contact straight away

Bonita
The spray will kill the termites that it contacts but it will not get those remaining in the nest.
You used to be able to get a spray that does not kill the termites directly but they carry it back to the nest and it kills the queen and thus the nest. Not too sure what it was or whether it is available to the general public. You may need to contact a pest controller and see if they can treat the termites at the nest

Gary is this the one you are thinking of,

Bonita, in Toowomba, you would have a licenced pest controller, see it he will give/sell you a couple of mLs, that is all you will need, it rolls them on contact. See if you can find thier track, you might have to look at ground level, spray that as well.

Re: Termites in my Lamarque Noisette
No I think the one I was thinking about was a bit more toxic than that and specifically for termites.
We had them in a sleeper wall when we lived in Caloundra many years ago. The pest controller had a little spray thingy (the chemical was a powder) and he just sprayed it onto a few ants and they were all gone in a week.
I would imgine something like that would only for a licensed person to use. It will get rid of the nest (probably in the stump) which is the best solution when it comes to termites.

Chlorpyrifos is residual, it would at least stop them returning, it kills on the spot
