Day Tripper
As this topic is called "The Social Pages" I thought I might bring a bit of trivia to it. The link below wil give everyone an insight how I will spend today(Saturday). I am going on a road trip(77Klms) which is along trip for us.
On return I will have photos of the day and maybe a video of it, hopefully.
Enjoy your day everone, we will.

Re: Day Tripper
You're welcome to have one of our mice. They run REALLY FAST. They need to... when they have 4 dogs after them.... :p
Sounds cute though. At our local Ag Show we ran guinea pig races last year and they were very popular with the kids.

Some of the days entertainment.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
the finnish line

This shot is the auction of the mice for the Cup, most went for around the 500 bucks each

What would mouse races be without a bar with refreshments

And just like any form of race there needs to be the 'bookies'. When I went 18 years ago there was 2 bookies, now 5, that will tell you how big this event has gotten. What even makes it better all the winnings from the bookies go to the total monies raised.

A fantastic day was had by the four of us that went, my friend could not believe it was so big. He works for a coal company here in Mudgee and is going to work on Monday and is going to get the company to sponsor a race next year in it's 25th year. He also is getting 1 bus if not 2 filled with his workers to add some comradery to the day and spend some of thier money. I can see one of the cup mice going for a grand($1000). We got a video of the cup and will try to place it on here by next weekend.

Re: Day Tripper
Rosalie we were there for 7 races out of 10 and then the cup. Carole backed 3 winners and then to finnish the day got the winner of the cup, which was called "Marnz Mouse" from race 5.
The form for this mouse reads as follows.
[i]Unknown over distance, but worth keeping an eye on. Very fiesty mouse. Parents (Fletcher Oscar Meyer & Lucky Spot Dog) good runners & cunning.
