Coreopsis from Space
Bit off topic but this may interest some of you.
There is a site [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which has aerial photos that are similar to Google Earth but in some areas of Australia are very clear. The areas covered are mainly around capital cities and some regional areas.
Lee always comments on how yellow or coreopsis are. The three bits we have of them certainly are and show up on the aerial image. The image has lost some of its clarity through the transfer.

I also just notices that you can see the blooms on Alice Garnier. Along the bottom of the image at about the centre. The white dots are the masses of flowers on the stand.

Wow. They are certainly bright!!
(And nice garden layout... I take it your place is on the flats rather than slope?)

No actually it is on a reasonable slope. About 1 in 8 going from right to left.
The round area drops down a set of stiars to the grass "path" that runs up the photo then there is another set of stairs that drops into the squares and then drop sdown anotehr to the next grass "path". Going across it slopes a bit more gentle to the next squares and the wider grass "path".
The other grass areas are all sloping areas.
The photo cover about about quater of the garden. The photo wouldbe too large to download to show the whole thing.

Pretty amazing isn't it ?
Young fella I know from another forum was using nearmaps to search for likely blackberrying spots near where he lives in the Adelaide hills . Reckoned it saved his legs a bit.

Good lord! No wonder you and I have a different perspective on growing large teas, Balinbear. You have a ginormous, quite formal garden, I have a couple of suburban-size plots with informal (to put it politely) plantings. How ever do you manage to maintain it all?
