Going to try a different tactic next time...
After frying all bar three of my seedlings this year in the greenhouse I'm going to try something different next time around. I have a lot of OP multiflora seeds developing and was going to germinate all of these as rootstocks. So this time around I'm going to fence off a section of my back paddock to critter-proof it, chuck the goats in there to crop it closely, spray it with round up, and then make a fine seedbed and sow the seeds of all of them plus my planned crosses, directly in the ground in early spring/late winter after stratifying them in the fridge over winter. I'm hoping I'll get better initial growth this way too and better root systems on all of them. Area will be about 50m long by 20m wide to start with I think... I wonder if I can borrow a rotary hoe off someone for the back of my tractor
