Re: Occupational Hazards...
That aint no poor alpaca! This one, Aztec, near killed me. I tried getting a piece of blackberry off him and something spooked him while getting his halter on so I could tether him, he launched me in the air 6ft, I landed 10ft down the hill, hit my head on a rock, nearly broke my arm (12 months on it still isn't right), and took all the skin of my bum! So if the silly bugger wants to stick his head in my roses good for him lol
Re: Occupational Hazards...

Re: Occupational Hazards...
LOL
I've seen them knock out burly 6' guys after being "sedated".
Mine have a penchant for finding the last remaining bits of barbed wire left on the place.
And given the tendency for Blackberry Attraction and Rolling In Ash I'm always super careful where I site my prunings bonfire.
Despite that they are great personalities.

Mine love rolling in ash too and they have a section of earth they dig out and roll in to dust bath... I was looking at the Google Earth image of our place the other day and I noticed that the old alpaca poo pile can be seen from space LOL I love alpaca so much When I retire I think I'm going to buy more land and run an alpaca farm... awesome animals!

Not quite OHS, but it is for 'Benny' our "unicorn" goat, he had a dieing horn and caught it on the fence the other day, so he is now a "unigoat". he is ok, he got carrots and other things to take his mind off it.
