Re: A warm welcome to pfm
Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't introduced myself earlier - just jumped right in asking questions! My husband and I live on his family farm in the mid-north of SA. I am currently on leave from my paid work to raise our young children and they are at an age where they love getting into the garden. We are very fortuante to have a large property and a large 'house paddock' as we call it!
The kids and I are right into growing vegetables and they get so excited when our seeds germinate and we can plant them in the vegie garden!
I have always loved roses ans spent many a night reading rose books while up with newborn babies. As a result I have fallen in love with the old fashioned roses, ramblers and species roses. I can't wait to plant as many as possible!
Thanks for making me feel welcome. I look forward to learning from all of your experience and hope that I can contribute in some way, too! Fiona

Fiona I wish you a very warm welcome and am sure you will get a great deal of sound advice from the good people on the forum.
How many acres of farmland do you have? You may need to move the home paddock fence out 100 yards on all four sides once the human rose virus takes hold. There are so many wonderful old roses out there, collecting becomes a passion.

LOL Ozeboy , don't let all the secrets out at once ! Welcome Fiona and family from us here in W.A too .
Rose gardens do have a habit of evolving [polite way of saying expanding ] so while hubby is at it shifting the fences for you , perhaps he'd better put in their own water supply dam too.
It's lovely having the kids out in the garden with you , sometimes you may not get a lot actually done but still have a lot of fun and good times.
Look forward to hear how your roses go.
cheers. Rosalie
