I certainly have...after a lot of problems in the beginning and finding out how strong vacuum in a pipe can be...it is all worked out....after one week, even the reticulation guy was amazed to the coloured changed to the garden. It will be interesting to see the garden when we get home next week. A few thing could happen here with the roses and the timing for the rose show next week end. One the roses could be timed to perfection and look great......two... with the constant fertilizing, the roses could bloom too early and have no roses to show, hence I need to recalculate the pruning time....or three ...they have adapted to the extra fertilizer and their growth has sped up and then slowed right down

The one thing that really stands out under this system is the size of the plants have increased so much as compared to what I perceived as them being normal...... also for the fact it saves me a lot of time fertilizing them individuality and I can customise fertilizing very easily.

The downsize is the fact that pure liquid fertilizers cost a lot more than normal ones and some of them you need to buy in 20 ltr drums as they don't sell in smaller quantities.....
Also the venture hole is small and can become easily blocked.....

Hi Anna and of course John, where are you at present. It sounds like you have had good success so far with the fertigation system. A little bit of tweaking will get it right. When you get home can you give us a run down on your system. It would also be good to hear what fertilizers you are using.
I have had irrigation to all my beds for most of the time they have been in. One bed has received a timer from another project, hanging baskets for Carole. I have placed it on my youngest bed and programmed it for once a day for one hour, the roses have grown better than I expected, especially one small runt of a plant, I would hate to see what would happen if I placed fertigation to them.

@ David....got in from Thailand yesterday and working our way back home...at present in Kuala Lumpur......
When I get back later this week I will give you a ring, either before or after the week end, as I have a hectic schedule from the time we land thru to the week end......

@ Gary......sorry for the confusion , Gary...rang Dave on the landline and was making inquiry into how they fertilize the grapes where Dave works........I ended up putting a fertigation system in at my place

Hi Gary sorry you did not know what John and I were on about, as John said we had a talk by the old fashioned landline, east to west.
John wanted to feed his exhibition roses bt fertigation and we spoke of the way he had ideas and which we do it in the vineyard. We use venturi type and it works well.

Had a open day today for a garden club Lee is in and had about 100-120 people in the garden. Yesterday we had 33mm and probably a total of about 60mm for the week so it was a little damp in places.

Been busting our guts for the last few weeks to get the place ready and we managed to slow the flowering down. It was looking good last weekend but the rain "washed out" a lot of the flowers.

I will have a look about tomorrow and see if it is worth any photos.

Hello all, not much going on here, I'm nearly out of roses having given them to people who will dig them up. However I'm still going to do a bit of breeding using the Mrs B R Cant Clg. Perhaps it should be called Claytons Mrs B R Cant for it's definitely not a climber. It's also bushier with deeper pink blooms than the original. Wish I could identify this rose Gary has kept and kindly sent me some budwood. The Blue or Fairy Wrens love this rose, what a delight and wonderful show they all make.

Not much happening here. Still haven't finished pruning and I have a lot of roses to move this year. Tea roses don't suit in my HT beds.

Hi All,
Pruning and spraying with lime sulphur all done. Everything that needed to get put in the ground is in the ground. Only two more to to dig up and put in pots to give away. I must say I'm procrastinating on this. I've done over 20 transplants this year and with everything else done I must say that my enthusiasm is waning. But I've also noticed a few caterpillar already and thus spring can't be far away...
Cheers,
Louise.

I've just finished the pruning in the last week or so. The big climbers were the last. New roses planted, everything fed - only need to top up all the mulch now. Haven't sprayed this year - we'll see how we go. There's a lot of growth on the roses that are in warm spots but not a flower anywhere yet except for on Crepuscule - I swear that rose never stops.

John, you might have to invest in some electic blankets mate.

Barbara, I thought I was late finishing mine, do you normally prune this late ?
