Post by The Lazy Rosarian 13th December 2014, 06:52

As I was about to retire to bed last night I thought I would have a quick squizz at the forum. To my amazement I was greeted by our Christmas front page. Over the years we have had a some good ones, but in my mind this is the best ever. Congratulations for this goes out to Neptune(John), thank you John, well done.

From Carole and I, I hope all have an enjoyable Christmas period in whichever way you celebrate,
The Lazy Rosarian.

Yes, a lovely surprise to open the forum and be greeted by the lovely Christmas display.

Merry Christmas to all. Trust you all spend time with loved ones and get the goodies you hope for. (My husband and I have just given ourselves an 8 week old Smithfield puppy for Christmas. Will have to teach her not to dig up the rose beds!!)

No, commonly referred to as Australian red cattle dog - highly intelligent - good for acreage. (Attempted several times unsuccessfully to insert a photo of our pup for you ... sigh)

Thanks, Muscovy... my satellite internet connection not always up to par, unfortunately - at least that's what I'm blaming for the pic upload failure!
Neptune, you got the correct breed in the 2nd pic.

Silky.. the name is Millicent, Milly for short! My children were cringing in case I called her 'Rose', or 'Rosebud'. She already loves the garden - and is a dab hand (paw) at digging ...

Milly is a lovely name. Puppies in the garden...ah yes I remember some of those challenges. My two are old boys now but I still have some bricks in the garden beds to protect some plants they they like to lie on...and break. The bricks are ugly but work a treat.
I'm sure having Milly in the garden with you will add to your enjoyment.

Bloody Santa. I wondered where those blooms went off our Niphetos and all this time I was blaming David.

Have a great Christmas everyone.

Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year to my fellow posters.

With respect to today we had a fairly quiet day starting with having breakfast with our recently acquired adopted 19yr old son then went to the local RSL club and had Christmas lunch. The luck of the AQ continued with her winning $100 on the poker machines that paid for lunch. Part of the lunch was a lobster tail that every guest received a ticket. Knowing how much the AQ enjoys lobster I gave her my ticket then low and behold two fellow guests who we had never met sitting at an adjacent table didn't eat seafood so they gave the AQ their tickets for their lobster tails.
