Leaf Curl
Allways something new bugs my roses at the start of each season, this year most of my roses seem to be suffering with leaf curl. Apart from curling they seem to dry out and crumble in your fingers, I can't see any insects, there's no sign of black spot or mildew. Any thought would be appreciated.
Re: Leaf Curl
Rose-leaf curl is a virus that causes leaves to curl and may also lead to a yellowing of the foliage. This maybe the reason but more than likely it is related to insect damage. What I would suggest is a good spray of Natrasoap and see what happens.

Re: Leaf Curl
First off Paul, since pruning have you changed any of the your practices with them.
Food, water, temps, wind ?
Is it only on the fresh new growth and does it persist on the older leaves ?

Thanks guys. A couple of things. I havent fertilised yet I have only lime sulphured 2 times in the past 3 weeks I have done no different to any other. It seems to only effecting new growth with the leaves curling and drying out. Cant see any bugs an certainly no mites and or mildew or b spot. Hmmm
Re: Leaf Curl

Re: Leaf Curl
The leaves look a bit "burnt". Well not so much burnt but maybe burnt internally or something.

Re: Leaf Curl
Lime Sulphur appears to be the problem, twice in 3 weeks, a bit of overkill, what were the temperatures when this was done Paul.

Awe John, you know me well lol, well sometimes I do sleep in sometimes.
Most of my spraying gets done in the late arvo or early evening,

Dave, I usually do the lime sulphur at this time of year 3 times at 2 week intervals
Also the leaves seem to also have a bubbling effect as well

Yes I did strip them, what I meant by older foliage, was that the new leaves coming out now have curl as well as some of the leaves even though they are new are a lot bigger, if that makes sense.
