Carole - what a great system of keeping track of the rose names while preserving those precious canes! May adopt this for next year's new roses ...

I just take them off and hope I remember, haha. Setting myself up for disaster? Most likely.

I must admit I have never noticed a problem with the plastic tie attached label however on reflection I have from time to time removed the cane from a number of roses that had a plastic tie label attached because of lack of vigour not actual death.

Finally got blooms on 'Soul Sister'. It's not an "early" bloomer for me. That may change as the bush matures.

Yup. Sitting next to 'Soul Sister'. Last year was the best I've ever had her. Sickly thing usually....

That's the healthiest Julia I've seen. Well done. Mine gives me an occasional beautiful bloom when she feels like it, but she is a sickly thing.

Wendy, if my "soul sister" grew like your 'Julia's Rose" I would be happy.

If *my* 'Soul Sister' grows as tall as 'Julia's Rose' I'll be stoked - but I'll settle for healthier. LOL
