Has anyone any thoughts on any 2014 bare root roses. This year I have room for four more roses, then i'm completely out of room, so if a rose doesn't perform after three years it will probably get the heave ho. This year i'm thinking Neptune (standard), Amazing Grace, Cote dAzur, Chartreusse de Parme (for the third try on this rose, i'm putting it in a different location, and will try and be patient, only because it has the most amazing fragrance), Sight Saver if i decide against Chartreusse, Betsy you have me hooked on this one ..

I don't know if I can wait until bare root time, but these are my thoughts for new rose in 2014:
Parole and Baronne E de Rothschild (to replace ordered duds this year)
Valencia
These are the maybes:
Warm Wishes
Alec's Red
Firefighter
Soul Mate

Any suggestions for neighbours for Valencia, that will enhance the rich old gold tones? I'm thinking Warm Wishes, maybe even Ashram, wouldn't mind Dame Elisabeth Murdoch even. Thoughts anyone?

I wonder if anyone here grows Dame Elisabeth? Every time I've seen it, it has looked fantastic, heaps of flowers, no sign of disease or drooping in the heat. "Tough as old boots, like me" was what Dame E said of this rose named in her honour. Unfortunately no perfume that I could detect although it is said to have some perfume..
