New Kordes releases for 2014 in Oz

Well, folks, here they are. (mostly Kordes, I think) Sad to say there is only one among them with decent scent, and it looks ho-hum. In fact, this batch all looks like we've been-there-done-that. What do you think? Have I missed soemthing special? Anyone interested in any of these new creatures?

I can only see one fragrant rose Betsy , and who know on that , Blackberry Nip in my garden is a dud for fragrance , good healthy bush though and Black Caviar hasn't had a lot of blooms so far , so new releases , mmmnnn.....

Yeah, maree, the only one touted as having great scent is "Addictive Lure" (Will no one help Kordes with their English language names? )

Nothing in the new release bag jumped out at me last year, either, and the year before that I fell into the scenic trap and bought Perfume Passion - a million medals, and not one thing aboiut it I liked, in reality.

Just checked out those new releases and I see what you mean. Nothing there that lights my fire, that's for sure. Then again I generally steer clear of new releases until I hear great things. Exception being Ebb Tide. Wished I'd waited and invested in a rose I can love.
Now that rose on the cover of Kordes' book, maybe it's just me and I am weird but that makes me feel bilious, sort of mouldering balls of yuck. Sorry.

Silky , i'm with you now , i have bought so many new releases and been dissapointed in them , that why this forum is so good , you've got a opportunity to ask and find out if a rose is a dud .  Blackberry Nip i am definately not happy with the fragrance and Black Caviar has had about three blooms , first year though ..  I too bought Ebb Tide and that was a flop too ...

Okay Jordan , you buy it and let us all know how it goes .  Can i ask Jordan do you ever chuck any of your roses out or give them away ?   I'm starting to think that you are a rose magician who pulls them out of his hat lol

Maree, I don't chuck roses out , if they don't perform well for me , I give them to either my mum or my sister they both love roses

Do they plant them or do they leave them in pots ?

mum has only a small garden , so she puts them into big pots , as for my sister she has a huge block , I envy her I wish I had her yard . god imagine the 1000 of roses I could have

Oh Jordan you are amazing , but i am with you there , a bigger block would be fantastic ....

I"m sure it would make life much easier for you Dan if you had enough space to grow at least some in the ground. Have you thought of any designs for your dream garden?

yeah , climbers everywhere , ramblers , one part of the garden for the oldies , a david Austin section, then the teas and their hybrid and the flori in one section, more of a cottage garden that's what i like

Love your plans, jordan71. Many worthwhile ventures started with a dream!!! If you haven't already ... You could always put it on paper first - draw up a plan, write out lists of roses...
