Re: Dimity/Dianne
An update on Dianne, I received an email overnight from Dianne. The op did not go as well as expected so recovery will be slow and with some treatment things will be OK. The only problem she has is getting on the computer for the forum, she said it is hard with a laptop and the bed. Dianne also said she is/has run out of reading material(rose books). Some re-reads I guess.

Re: Dimity/Dianne
So pleased to hear from you Dianne but so sorry to hear that the op didn't go as planned. Take your time to recover. The garden will be OK and all the flowers will greet you when you're ready. In the meantime, maybe you can discover the joys of daytime television to while away the time. Lol

Re: Dimity/Dianne
Hi Dianne, Oh you poor thing! Just relax and try to take it easy - I know, sooner said than done! Been there ... ! Siky is right though. the garden will be fine and the roses and other flowers will be there to greet you soon. Wish I was near you, I could then bring you some reading material. Is there anyone out there on the forum who is near Dianne?! Anyway, come back soon. Take care, Sue x

Re: Dimity/Dianne
Sue, I am going to write a list of books(roses) I have and send it to Dianne and see if she would like to read any of them and if so post them to her. I will also place my list on here for other to see, on another thread as Dianne asked about books we have.

Re: Dimity/Dianne
That's a brilliant idea David. I have recently bought 2 of Susan Irvine's books which are wonderful - I know, they've been around for ages! I'm a newbie remember!! LOL My others are far too big to post. I wonder if she would like to borrow either of these. Please ask her for me. Thank you!

Re: Dimity/Dianne
Hi Dianne, Great to hear from you!! Fragrant Roses is lovely book regarding different roses - obviously!!! LOL On the back cover os "Create your own scented garden". It goes onto say the book gives clear descriptions of the best fragrant rose for your Australian garden. This sounds very "usual" of a rose book, but it's the way Susan Irvine tells it really. I've fallen in love with this lady. She is a joy to read and a mine of information IMO.

Re: Dimity/Dianne
Anything by Susan Irvine is a great read IMO. She is able to describe garden vistas so you can easily visualise the images that aren't covered in photos. I loved Forest Hall which describes the transformation of the garden and house she and her husband bought in Tasmania. They sold it recently I believe.

Re: Dimity/Dianne
Oooh Silky, you've set me off on a mission! LOL As I previously said, I've only just discovered this lady, so now I'm going to track down the book you spoke of - Forest Hall. You are so right about visuals! Her info is really interesting too.
