Yesterday I sprayed the follow-up 2 week spray on some of my roses, only for the heavens to open up and down she came. Short but heavy downpour. Does this mean my spraying was a waste of time and has to be done again?

That's what I was afraid of...>8@ 
The trick now will be finding a break in the next few days, forecast with showers/rain. It might end up as 3 weeks (at least) between sprays. Does this matter?

so long as you get 4 or 5 hours of dry weather , you should be right.......considering this is a follow up course........just remember in days gone by,they never had or use lime sulphur and beautiful roses still showed.
