This might interest some, not many I guess, but it will give you some understanding of where where your beloved roses come from.

Am I able to attach an article I found in a very old magazine (1991) David Austin is interviewed and gives some insight into naming of his roses.

Re: propagating roses
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]When I was recently in Omeo in Victoria I took cuttings of this rose that had been outside an old house for well over 50 years. I wrapped the ends of the cuttings in moistened paper towel and then tightly wrapped them in glad-wrap and finally placed a tight rubber band around the outside of each little bundle. I took about 28 cuttings and when I opened the packets today I found that almost every one of the cuttings had calloused. So I have placed them in a top grade potting mix and will wait to see how many will root sucessfully. The rose may be common but you never can know all of them.

Re: propagating roses
David you will notice the middle rose is LDBraithwaite. Let me know if this can't be read sufficiently well (please don't go blind with trying).

Well done Lindsey, I can see it (with the aid of my seeing eye dog ) no problems. A really good article, thanks for sharing it.

Re: propagating roses
I hope he doesn't go blind with the effort. I was fascinated with the way he started (being a novice and all).
